LED Lighting has become fully integrated into our world, in terms of both work life and home life. We have come to recognise and appreciate the far-reaching benefits of LED, namely improving energy efficiency and environmental performance, whilst offering significant cost savings, with improved comfort and aesthetics.

So, what’s next? How do we build on LED success? It’s an evolving entity and there’s so much more to come… explained Tom Ashton of Harled…. LED will only continue to get better. He commented:

“We know that by introducing LED lighting, in conjunction with smart technology in any environment, will have a major impact on energy consumption instantaneously.

“LED offers an extended lifespan of between 50,000 and 100,000 hours. Compared to a typical incandescent bulb, this is around 30 times longer than traditional products, requiring less maintenance and offering greater longevity.

“What we are seeing now, however, is greater innovation, even more energy saving capability and advancing technology in terms of aesthetics. An overarching development has been the changeability of LED, and the user’s ability to manipulate and adapt the light to meet a specific need, mood, look and feel.

“The Harled downlights, bulkhead, Linear System and High-bay products, for example, allow us to change the colour of the LED's with CCT chips and multi wattage variations, a huge step forward for LED and lighting in general. This technology also helps us and our customers to stock less products with most luminaires offering more than twelve variants in a single unit.

“Users are bringing the theatre of illumination into their homes and businesses, and at the flick of a switch, can create a different mood or theme instantaneously.

“Today’s LED’s are incredibly versatile and flexible, and can not only be installed in almost any environment, whilst being incredibly efficient and environmentally sound, but enhance a business’ wider environmental performance. LED lights are also proven to offer more comfort with a broad range of colours available that can simulate daylight or help cultivate a desired effect, ambience or mood.”

So what’s next for LED and how can we build on this success and innovation? We expect to see further developments in terms of energy efficiency, smart systems, and evolution through applications, with added integration into new technologies. It's an exciting market place and one in which Harled remains at the fore through products, service and design.
