Hawkley Hall High School

Specialists in Electrical installations, Fire Alarm system and service & maintenance of public sector buildings, The Folkus Group, once again invited Harled to design their latest project; a full upgrade of the drama performance, teaching and rehearsal area in Hawkley Hall High School, Wigan.

The expansive drama site spans some three sections, including seating, performance area and a stage. The space is flexible and can be adapted for a range of needs from daily practice and rehearsal to full theatrical performance. The lighting design was to mirror the versatility of the environment, allowing users to create a vast array of moods from high to low energy, ambient and improved lighting levels, specifically for exam conditions.

Harled created a scheme that recognised the three areas individually and enabled separate controls of each, whilst simultaneously introducing a master control spanning the entire space. Various lighting fittings and technology where specified including the Harled opal multi-wattage 33ct high-bay and Opal high-bay fittimg 1/10V dimming.

Mark Suffolk, owner of The Folkus Group commented: “We have worked with Harled on many schemes through the years, Hawkley Hall High School being the latest. Working with skilled lighting designers was really important here, bringing a team on board who understood the brief and were able to apply, not only brilliant design, but utilise the best products and supporting technology.

"

What The Client Said.
